His friend started the engine and began to taxi onto the runway of theairport. Mr. Johnson had heard that the most dangerous part of a flight were thetake-off (起飞)and the landing, so he was extremely(adv.及其地) frightened and closedhis eyes.

After a minute or two he opened them again, looked out of (向外看) the windowof the plane, and said to his friend, “Look at those people down there. Theylook as small as ants, don’t they?”

“It’s ants,” his friend answered,” We’re on the ground.”
