高考英语重难点之be of+ 抽象名词

考点梳理：

be of 后可接value,importance,use,help,significance,interest, benefit等一些抽象名词，说明句子主语所具有的作用、重要性或意义，等于be+对应的形容词:

be of value,importance,use,help,significance,interest,benefit

=be valuable,important,useful,helpful,significant,interesting,beneficial

在这类抽象名词前我们可用一些形容词，如: great, little, some, any, no, not much等来修饰抽象名词，用以说明程度。例如：

English is of great importance to us.

=English is very important to us.

英语对我们非常重要。

This was of no importance to the future.

= This was not important to the future.

这对未来一点都不重要。

高考常见于It is+adj+for sb to do sth=It is of+n+for sb to do sth

It is important for us to learn English well.

=It is of importance for us to learn English well.

对于我们来说学好英语是重要的。
